Our main goal is to have fun especially the ethic around what work we take on and how we delegate things. This main goal of having fun is framed within the vision of enjoying being in a community together and building deep-rooted relationships.
The seed library trusts volunteers are doing the best they can, trust that they will ask for help when they need it, and trust in the skills they bring. Overall, this means trusting and listening to everyone’s voices.
No one is trying to take control, no one has to prove their ideas are good, and no one has to have a specific role to take on projects they want to work on. People are given the freedom and ability to experiment.
People are naturally inclined to want to help, and when they are given such freedom, they are able to think outside of the box and become more creative in problem-solving.
We use the metaphor of the flow of the seasons— letting individuals flow with their ideas.
